The election of Trump as the next president of the United States marks an important turning point in history.
Trump has successfully marketed himself as the “anti-establishment” candidate who is going to give the “elites” a run for their money.

He got elected or rather selected, on a pledge to “make America great again” and reverse the tide of political correctness that is blighting the country.

Millions were swayed by his promises to get rid of the highly unpopular Obamacare medical insurance plan, and eliminate corporate lobbyists from the government.

He also promised to deport 11 million immigrants. However, despite the fact that he has not taken office yet, he already appears to have backtracked on some of the promises made.

Now of course, he has not taken office yet and so it is not expected that he is in a position to implement anything yet.
But what he has done is make claims that contradict his original statements.

For example, now rather than getting rid of Obamacare, Mr Trump told the Wall Street Journal that he might not repeal Obamacare, but would instead look at “amending” it.

In addition, Trump’s plan to deport 11 million immigrants, became a plan to deport 2-3 million immigrants, and now there will be no mass deportations, according to Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.

Recent appointments in Trumps team confirm that lobbyists are now part of his cabinets, despite his promise that he will “drain the swamp” of corporate lobbyists.

Want examples? Jeffrey Eisenach, a consultant who has worked for years on behalf of Verizon and other telecommunications clients, is the head of the team that is helping to pick staff members at the Federal Communications Commission.

In addition, Michael Torrey, will be heading up the Department of Agriculture team. Michael is a lobbyist who runs a firm that has earned millions of dollars helping food industry players such as the American Beverage Association and the dairy giant Dean Foods.

Another member of Donald’s cabinet is Michael Catanzaro, a lobbyist whose clients include Devon Energy and Encana Oil and Gas, holds the “energy independence” portfolio.

Michael McKenna, is another lobbyist, and he has been selected by Trump to helping to pick key administration officials who will oversee energy policy, and Martin Whitmer, will oversea“transportation and infrastructure” for the Trump transition. He is the chairman of a Washington law firm whose lobbying clients include the Association of American Railroads and the National Asphalt Pavement Association.

Trump said after he spoke with congressional leaders, shortly after his first meeting with Mr Obama, that healthcare would be among his top priorities in office.

President Obama, after he was first elected, instituted rules that prohibited individuals who had served as registered lobbyists in the prior year from serving as transition advisers in the areas in which they represented private clients. They were also prohibited, after the administration took power, from lobbying in the parts of the government they helped set up.

So will Trump create positive changes for America as supporters claim? Well, that remains to be seen.

But his early u-turns on election promises, his election of a white nationalist as his strategy advisor and his grab-them-by-the-pussy rhetoric, as well as outright conspiracy theories and lies he has already told, suggest otherwise.
Indeed, far from being anti-establishment, he is just as much a solid part of the establishment as the rest of the politicians.

The truth is America had no real choice in these elections. Hillary Clinton, who so many on the left have championed is nothing but a corporate war-mongerer who was more than a little economical with the truth when it came to disclosing those emails. Her family have also been behind most of the recent US wars that have been waged.

Trump on the other hand is a bigoted, establishment sociopath who notably donated thousands of dollars to….the Clinton Foundation. The organisation that he referred to as “corrupt”. Hillary also attended Trump’s third wedding to Melania in 2005, as shown in the pictures above.
