An Indian restaurant in Margate has offered to ‘reform’ a burglar who has repeatedly targeted their premises if they own up to the crime.

Award-winning fine dining restaurant, The Ambrette reported that the persistent intruder keeps stealing their wine, pastries and cooking ingredients and said that they are willing to offer them them a job if they can prove they can be a reformed character.

He is also said to have taken a jacket belonging to a member of staff.

Apparently the uninvited guest is almost as regular as some of their more frequent customers.

Police are now studying available CCTV footage outside of the restaurant and expect to make an early arrest of the suspect who is thought to live nearby.

The Ambrette has now upgraded its security and is offering a reward of a meal for two for information leading to the successful prosecution of the culprit.

But the head chef at the restaurant, Dev Biswal said that if the person responsible turns himself in and gives back the jacket he would be willing to offer him training as a kitchen porter, trainee chef, or waiter.

If they prove to be a genuinely reformed character, and deal with any underlying drug or drink issues, there could even be the offer of long-term employment.
