The Department of Work and Pensions has told a terminally ill woman that she is to blame for getting cancer.

A letter by Chris Nelson appeared on the social networking site Facebook told of how the DWP refused disability allowance to the woman because they claimed that she was responsible for contracting a rare form of bone cancer called Sarcoma, therefore is not entitled to Employment Support Allowance.

In a shockingly insensitive letter addressed to the lady, the DWP wrote: “On whether you have contributed to your medical condition. We have decided that you did contribute to your medical condition.”

We have reproduced the letter that Mr Nelson highlighted below.
