When you buy meat from a local shopping store, the last thing you expect to get from it is an LSD trip.

And yet that is what happened to one unfortunate family in Florida who had a very scary experience after eating beef steak brought from a Walmart store in Tampa, Florida.

It resulted in a pregnant mother being rushed to hospital after buying the steak from Walmart that was contaminated with the drug, LSD.

The drug caused Ronnie Morales, to fall ill, followed by his wife Jessica Rosasdo who went into labour early after eating the steak. Her other young children aged 6 and 7, started suffering from hallucinations after eating the contaminated meat.

The Walmart store in question has since launched an investigation into how their food got contaminated.

Ms Rosasdo had been driving her boyfriend, Ronnie Morales, to St Joseph’s Hospital when she too started to also feel unwell.

Her two children Rayna and Elyana had already started to hallucinate before they reached the hospital.

Both Ms Rosasdo and her children were given emergency treatment, which included having a tube inserted into their throats to keep the airways clear.

Jane Castor, a police chief in Tampa said that officers are now investigating the incident.

She said: “There was no indication that we know of right now that the meat tasted funny.’
‘It was the physical symptoms they had, which included hallucinations, dizziness, rapid heart rate and difficulty breathing. The family has no idea where this may have come from and there’s no indication of any involvement on the part of the family.”

The family had bought the steak from a WalMart on North Dale Mabry Highway. Authorities say they had no idea how the steak – which tested positive for LSD – had become contaminated.

WalMart issued a statement to the Tampa Bay Times, saying: “‘It’s unclear where and how the food was tampered with or if the tampering occurred after purchase. However, out of an abundance of caution, we have pulled the remaining product from the store. We have been in touch with our supplier and they tell us they have no reports of similar incidents. We are also reviewing our store’s surveillance video to see if we can find any information that might assist in the investigation. At this point, we’re not aware of any suspicious activity.”
